Jarod's pretend: Motorcycle Cop

Jarod "Starr" poses as a crooked police officer in Miami to clear the name of Marvin Kembrook, a security guard who had only recently been reunited with his father after many years of searching.

While doing his job, Kembrook walked in on two crooked cops, Carl Bishop and Frank Meyers, as they were using the security access code to rob a jewelry store.   Bishop needed to keep his "second job" as a jewel thief, in order to support his ex-wives and children, so he shot and killed Kembrook - then he and Meyers claimed that they were the ones who walked in on Marvin and an accomplice, and that it was the accomplice who shot his partner in crime, Marvin Kembrook.

Knowing the kind of emotional roller coaster people who search for their parents are forced to ride, Jarod doesn't believe that a man who had finally achieved his happy ending, by finding his father, would risk it all by robbing a jewelry store - especially since neither he, nor his father, needed the money.

Jarod tricks Bishop and Meyers into giving him enough rope with which to hang themselves, then puts the noose into the hands of an Internal Affairs detective who was already investigating the case.

Jarod discovers donuts!

Jarod enlists the help of Susan Granger, a woman who specializes in reuniting families and who helped Marvin Kembrook find his father.  In a matter of days, she receives a phone call from an unknown source within The Centre - saying they are sending the information that Jarod wants via mail.   Knowing how important the information is to Jarod, when it arrives, Ms Granger does not open the envelope - she wants Jarod to be the first to see the contents.

Moments after Granger gives Jarod the envelope that holds the information he needs to find his parents, Miss Parker and her team arrive.  During his escape from Miss Parker, Jarod drops the envelope.   Miss Parker recovers it, then immediately burns it so that there is no way that Jarod can ever look at what it contained.
