Rayford is sentenced to a federal prison and a deal was cut for Eugene Diggs to testify against the Arellano Cartel. When Jimmy Rayford supposedly uses a home-made knife to attack one of the marshals who were transporting him to prison, then escapes by parachuting off the plane, U.S. Marshall Jarod Cody gets assigned to help work the case in Oklahoma City. Jarod discovers that Marshal Bob Garrison is working in league with the attorney representing Eugene Diggs, Karen Michaels, to kill any witnesses that might be able to testify against the Arellano Cartel. Garrison shoved Jimmy Rayford off of the plane and to his death, then stabbed himself, to make it look as though Rayford escaped. Eugene Diggs testifies, the drug lords go to jail and Jarod gives Diggs and his wife new identities and relocates them.
